History shows us how to resist times of injustice. In the 1910s, when lynching tried to reimpose slavery by means of terror, new organizations sprang up to fight back. Black and white New Yorkers created the NAACP and used litigation, education, research, and new media to launch a new resistance movement to advance social and racial justice.
The NAACP had a powerful impact in Westchester County which continues to today.
Join us to learn their history in Westchester and how the path they charted in our communities shows us the way forward as we fight for justice today.
